MEng Aerospace Engineering

Course Overview

The MEng Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University London is a practical and advanced degree that prepares you for a career in the aerospace industry. At the beginning of the course, you will study important subjects such as structures, materials, fluid mechanics, and mathematics. Later, you will learn more complex topics like aircraft design, engines, and flight testing.

As you move through the course, you will study higher-level areas such as space mechanics, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, and important topics like flight safety and the environment. You will also build management and problem-solving skills to help you take on leadership roles in the future.

You will use real equipment such as wind tunnels, a flight simulator, aero-acoustic labs, and 3D printing tools. You will also use specialist software and computers for aircraft design.

By studying MEng Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University London, you will learn from guest speakers, visit companies, and work on design projects. The course is approved by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), which helps you work towards becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

Grade Requirements:

To be considered for this course, you must meet one of the following:

  • GCE A-levels: AAA–AAB including grade A in Maths and grade B in a science or technical subject (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science). Critical Thinking, General Studies, Use of Maths, and Mathematical Studies are not accepted.
  • BTEC Extended Diploma: DDD in a relevant Engineering subject, with required Distinctions in core Maths modules, plus grade A in A-level Maths.
  • International Baccalaureate: 31 points including Higher Level Maths at grade 6 and a science or technical subject at grade 5. Also requires English (SL 5 or HL 4) and Maths (SL 2 or HL 2) equivalents.

English Proficiency:

  • To meet the English language requirements at Brunel University London, applicants must demonstrate proficiency through one of the following recognised tests.
  • An IELTS score of 6.0 is required, with no individual component below 5.5. Alternatively, a Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59 is accepted, with at least 59 in each sub-score. For those taking the BrunELT, a minimum overall score of 58% is needed, with no section below 55%.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee to study an MEng in Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University London is £24,795 with a placement fee of £1,385. Please note that the fee quoted is only for the 2025/2026 academic session, as fees are subject to an annual increase.

Scholarships

Brunel University London offers several scholarships and financial support options for international students who want to study at the university. An example is the College of Engineering, Design & Physical Sciences (CEDPS) Academic Excellence Scholarship. This is a cash award of up to £2,000 available to full-time students commencing specified undergraduate courses in the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences.

No separate application is required for this scholarship. Applicants shall be considered automatically based on the information supplied in their course application.
