BEng Aerospace Engineering

The BEng Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University London is a hands-on course that helps you build the skills needed to work in the global aerospace industry. In the first part of the course, you will study basic engineering subjects like structures, materials, fluids, and mathematics. Later in the course, you will study more advanced topics like how to design aircraft, how engines work, and how to test how planes fly.

You will use real tools and equipment such as wind tunnels, a flight simulator, and testing labs. You will also have the chance to meet professionals from the industry through guest lectures, company visits, and special projects. Because Brunel’s campus is close to Heathrow Airport, there are more chances for visits and work placements.

The BEng Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University London is approved by two professional groups – the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). This means the course helps you work towards becoming a qualified engineer. You can study for three years full-time, or choose a four-year option that includes one year working in a company to get real-world experience.

The history of Brunel University of London can be traced back to 1798 through predecessor colleges like Borough Road College, Maria Grey College, Shoreditch College, and the West London Institute of Higher Education, as well as Acton Technical College and Brunel College. It gained university status in June 1966 when Brunel College of Advanced Technology was awarded a royal charter and became Brunel University. 

Since 2014, the university has been organised into three colleges: College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences; College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences; and College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences. 

Brunel boasts modern sports facilities, including an Indoor Athletics Centre, a gym, sports halls, an indoor climbing wall, a 400-meter athletics track, and pitches for various sports. These facilities are used by students, staff, and elite athletes.

Grade Requirements: 

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements to study this course.

• A-levels: AAB–BBB including Maths and one of the following: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Geology, Environmental Science/Studies, Computer Science, Electronics, or Design and Technology. (Critical Thinking, General Studies, Mathematical Studies, and Use of Maths not accepted.)
• BTEC Extended Diploma (QCF/RQF): DDD in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing) with Distinctions in key Maths and Science modules.
• International Baccalaureate: 30 points, including HL 5 in Maths (Analysis and Approaches) and HL 5 in a relevant science or technical subject.
• Access to HE Diploma: 120 UCAS points in Engineering or Engineering Science and Maths. All Level 3 Maths and Science units must be at Distinction.

English Proficiency:

• International students whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in the language. Typically, they must have an IELTS score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each of the four components. 
• Equivalent tests such as Pearson (59), TOEFL (77), and BrunELT (58%) are also accepted.

For the 2025/26 entry, the tuition fee to study BEng Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University London is £24,795 with a placement fee of £1,385. Please note that fees are paid annually and are subject to change.

Brunel University London offers a range of scholarships and bursaries to ease the financial burden of students. The Brunel University of London Undergraduate International Bursary is one of the opportunities available for students. This bursary offers a £3,000 fee reduction for self-funded international students across undergraduate courses. To be considered, applicants must hold an offer of a place to study in September 2025. You must have also paid your £5,000 deposit by 30 August 2025.
