Birkbeck University London

BSc Business Psychology

Birkbeck University London

Course overview

The BSc Business Psychology at Birkbeck University, London, combines psychology and business studies to understand human behaviour in business settings. The course explores how people think, feel, and behave in organisations and applies psychological theories to real-world problems. The course aims to help each student gain clear insight into work life. It gives a base in business knowledge as well. This mix shapes a steady path for later work or study. The degree blends ideas from mind study with key parts of work life. It helps make sense of stress, drive, job roles, and group links. This link between mind and work lets a student understand real work cases with care.

The programme covers a range of topics, including cognitive psychology and decision making, social psychology, and team dynamics. Throughout the course, the focus is on developing skills such as critical thinking, research, and analysis. The degree runs full-time for three years. The course covers core themes in mind study, including job design, worker drive, group links, and health at work. It also touches on work skills like project work and clear talk. Later years build on early years with a deeper study of the mind and work. Students are taught using lectures, small class talks, and group tasks. Assessment is through different formats such as short exams, essays, group tasks, and case tasks. During the final year, students are required to carry out a research project. The final project lets a student study one key idea.
